Overview

Part of a collection of beautifully refurbished cottages at Grade II listed Thirley Cote Farm, Willow Cottage is the perfect choice for small groups and families. Formerly the farm’s cart shed, the accommodation is spread across one floor with both a double bedroom and a twin. The double bedroom is wonderfully appointed with open stoned walls and full length windows and the cottage has traditional vaulted beam ceilings and wooden floors.

Underfloor heating by Air Source ensures you never have to feel chilly and there are both entertainment facilities and cooking appliances of a high standard to ensure all your needs are catered to throughout your stay. Willow also has its own private hot tub and enclosed garden and terraced area complete with teak furniture and Weber BBQ making this the perfect retreat. Guests can also make use of the fantastic shared facilities to include a shared games room for indoor entertainment, picnic area and a children’s play area.

Please be aware that during week days from 1/10/18 to 30/4/19, we will be renovating part of the Thirley Cotes Farm site. Whilst every effort will be made to avoid disturbance to our guests, we are offering a 25% discount for Half Term weeks in October ( 19/10/18 – 2/11/18 ) and February ( 15/2/19 – 1/3/19 ) Easter weeks (12-26 April 2019) and Spring Bank week (24/05/19- 31/05/19). We will also offer a 10% discount for weekend breaks, Xmas and New Year weeks, although no works will be conducted at these times.

Accommodation

Willow Cottage offers two bedrooms (sleeps four), a bathroom and an open plan lounge kitchen/diner. The accommodation is all on one floor, with large glass windows that open out onto a private gravelled area. All power, heating, bed linen and towels are provided as well as good quality Wi-Fi access.

Ground floor

Bedroom 1

Modern double bedroom with full length windows and open stone walls, wardrobe, hairdryer, bedside tables and lamps.

Bedroom 2

Twin bedroom with full length patio window, wardrobe, bedside table and lamp, hairdryer.

Bathroom

Spacious room with bath, shower, sink and toilet, tiled floor.

Open plan living area

Character valued beams above the lounge area with leather sofas and separate dining area, 32" freesat TV, Blu Ray DVD player, iPod dock and CD player. Electric Stove fire.
Sofa bed in lounge suitable for 2 small adults available at an additional £10 per night.

Kitchen Area

Open plan kitchen area, electric oven, hob and extractor, fridge freezer, microwave, dishwasher, washing machine, Nespresso Coffee machine with capsules.

Facilities

General

All fuel, bed linen and power is included. Good quality WIFI is available.Travel cot and highchair are available on request.

Outside

Willow Cottage benefits from a private hot tub and lawned area complete with quality teak garden furniture and Weber BBQ with initial supply of fuel.

On site there is a shared games room facility and children’s play area

Full use of the estates’ grounds include access to a larger open grassed play area and our enchanting 4 acre woodland which has an unfenced stream running along the bottom so children must be supervised, we also have a nature area with pond some 500 yards from the property to observe all our wildlife !

Please note, we are happy to accept 1 large or 2 small/medium sized dogs.

We have plenty of open parking and 2 covered spaces on a first come first serve basis. We are a non smoking property .

The Cottage Escapes reception is onsite and our friendly staff are readily available to help you with anything you need .

A fantastic stay in this beautiful cottage. Set in a stunning area with great views. Hot tub was lovely to relax in and look at the stars. Recommend eating fish and chips in Whitby and a visit to Robin Hoods Bay. We would love to come back here!

In the area

Thirley Cote Farm offers a plentiful range of facilities on site including opportunities for adventure. Set over 17 acres of beautiful countryside, you can explore the four acres of picturesque woodland or head to the fascinating wildlife pond, where you can spot many species of bird, including heron. Exploring beyond the borders of farm is easy with many local cycle paths and hikes to get you started.

Thirley Cote Farm is just on the edge of the North York Moors National Park which means you can easily head into the park and enjoy the many natural attractions, walks and more. It is also only 45 minutes from the county city of York, which offers up hours of cultural, historic entertainment as well as much more. Other nearby towns include Whitby, famed for its Gothic and literary connections and Scarborough for a classic British seaside day out.
